  • VIP tour and tasting for 8 at Harlan Estate

  • Lunch for 8 at Harlan Estate, hosted by Harlan Estate principals

Poised between the tame and the wild, the character of Harlan Estate wines derives largely from the alchemy between the untouched terrain of the forest and the cultivated slopes above the benchlands, on which the vineyards are planted. At once impassioned and refined, elemental and elegant, the yin and yang of the winegrowing’s art come to full expression in the wines of Harlan Estate. As the winning bidder of this remarkable lot, you and your guests will be immersed in this dynamic sensibility.

Specially commissioned for Auction Napa Valley 2019, an exceedingly rare 9-liter bottle of 2001 Harlan Estate red wine will become the sole property of the winning bidder. This collector’s dream represents one of Napa Valley’s greatest vintages and offers unique insights into the evolution of Harlan Estate’s singular expression. This bottle has never left the winery’s cellar and is the only one of its kind ever offered, anywhere.

This incomparable bottle has been specially adorned with a rare color version of the banknote-style, engraved Harlan Estate label, hand-printed using classic turn-of-the-century postal inks and a technique known as “selective inking.” This work is a testament to the heritage of the security engraver’s skill and craftsmanship, first developed centuries ago to ensure authenticity and discourage counterfeiting.

As the winning bidder, you and seven guests will explore the dramatic landscape of Harlan Estate during a VIP tour and tasting at the winery, followed by a specially prepared lunch on the property, hosted by one or more of the principals of Harlan Estate.

Another landscape—the wooded splendor of Meadowood Napa Valley, with all its gracious amenities—will be your sanctuary for two evenings, one of which will be spent at the Michelin three-star Restaurant at Meadowood, savoring the culinary artistry of Chef Christopher Kostow.
