You cannot miss this amazing opportunity to taste a vertical of 32 vintages—and take home 29 bottles—of Beaulieu Vineyard Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. Celebrate the 80th anniversary of this remarkable wine, inspired and crafted by founder Georges de Latour and “the Maestro,” winemaker André Tchelistcheff, whose inspirational teachings and craftsmanship influenced the entire California winemaking community.
You, your partner and four other couples will partake in a rare and extraordinary tasting of back vintage Georges de Latour wines across the renowned decades of history in which Tchelistcheff was at the helm of Beaulieu’s winemaking. This Cabernet Sauvignon, first made in 1936, was so distinctive that Tchelistcheff insisted it be sold as the winery’s flagship offering. Destined to become Napa Valley’s first “cult” Cabernet Sauvignon, it became the true benchmark of what Napa Valley Cabernet can be and is one of the most collected and celebrated American wines of all time. Taste rare and exceptional vintages from the 1950s to the current 2016 offering—this is an outstanding opportunity to taste through one of Napa Valley’s oldest library collections. Then take home a collection of wines, including some from Napa’s earliest years, curated from our winemaker’s cellar.
During your three-day, two-night experience, you’ll stay at a private estate in the heart of the Rutherford district, amongst the iconic vineyard blocks that go into crafting this flagship wine. Unforgettable meals will be featured throughout the weekend, including a dinner prepared by one of Michael Mina’s finest culinary chefs from his Bay Area established Mina Group, while dining in secluded Rutherford vineyard locations. Throughout your tasting and vineyard tour experience you’ll be guided by Trevor Durling, chief winemaker for Beaulieu, and just the fifth winemaker to craft the iconic Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. Special honorary guests significant to Beaulieu’s history will join you to share their personal stories of what it was like to know and work with André Tchelistcheff.
You’ll attend a lunch and glass workshop, hosted by Trevor Durling and esteemed 10th-generation Master Glassmaker Georg Riedel. The workshop will showcase a method similar to that used in designing the new Georges de Latour Riedel wineglass that will be unveiled with the release of the 2016 vintage. Each couple will also receive special edition commemorative 750ml and large format bottles from Beaulieu’s library collection, a new set of wineglasses designed by Riedel in collaboration with Beaulieu Vineyard (specifically crafted for highlighting the nuances of the Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon), a custom Riedel decanter and other commemorative items. There are more surprise treats also in store—don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime experience!
