Opus One and Van Cleef & Arpels invite you to celebrate the Napa Valley Vintners’ 75th Anniversary.
This all-inclusive experience will carry you and a guest from your doorstep to Paris via Air France’s prestigious La Première service. For the next three days, you will be hosted at the Ritz Hotel, Place Vendôme.
Van Cleef & Arpels will take you on a unique journey, where you will experience unparalleled access into one of the world’s most rarified, inner sanctums of luxury: the universe of High Jewelry. Fully attended to by your own guide and chauffeur, a series of extraordinary cultural and gastronomical experiences await you. Throughout your stay, Van Cleef & Arpels and Opus One will host you at two of the city’s finest dining establishments, L’Astrance and Le Pré Catelan, with each meal paired alongside rare vintages of Opus One from across the decades.
On day two, you will take a class at L’ÉCOLE: School of Jewelry Arts, which was established in 2012 with the support of Van Cleef & Arpels. Go deep into the captivating history of High Jewelry and learn hands-on jewelry-making techniques from L’ÉCOLE’s esteemed art historians and experts.
On your third day, you will be given exclusive access to Van Cleef & Arpels’ legendary Place Vendôme workshops, which have epitomized excellence in jewelry creation, beauty and innovation since the Maison’s founding in 1906. With a blend of inventiveness and poetry, the Maison perpetuates a highly distinctive style that has produced numerous signature designs over the decades. Interpreting butterflies since its earliest years, the Maison made them one of its most recognizable icons, a symbol of spring and luck. Playing on the volume of the wings with a combination of ornamental and precious stones, each one is a miniature work of art.
Your immersion will begin with a behind-the-scenes tour of the workshops where you will discover how the High Jewelry masterpieces come to life through the Mains d’OrTM (“Golden Hands” in French)—the Maison’s master craftsmen. You will meet privately with one of the Maison’s designers to create your very own, one-of-a-kind High Jewelry Butterfly Clip, customized to your specifications. From deciding on the overall design, to the selection of gemstones, ornamental stones, precious metal and various métiers d’art techniques, the skilled jewelry experts will work meticulously alongside you throughout the process to create a truly unique clip that captures your personal style and taste, in the tradition of the iconic Van Cleef & Arpels butterfly.
From Paris, you will fly by private jet to Bordeaux where you will check into your luxurious suite at the elegant Relais & Châteaux property, Château Cordeillan-Bages. Relax in the peaceful surroundings and enjoy dinner just steps from your room that evening, prepared by Chef Julien Lefebvre.
The next day you will visit Château Mouton Rothschild for a tour of the winery and cellars, as well as the Museum of the Art of Wine, hosted by Julien de Beaumarchais de Rothschild, grandson of Baron Philippe de Rothschild. Later that evening, enjoy an intimate dinner with the Rothschild family at the estate.
After lunch in Opus One’s Bordeaux townhouse, you will return to Paris by private jet and spend your last night in France at the Hotel Plaza Athénée, where you will enjoy the culinary prowess of Chef Alain Ducasse that evening.
The crafting of your custom piece by Van Cleef & Arpels may require up to one year. It will be presented to you at a gala dinner for up to 12 people at Opus One, in the company of distinguished guests from Van Cleef & Arpels. The dinner, prepared by Chef Michael Tusk, will be enjoyed on the winery’s new Veranda overlooking the Napa Valley with specially selected vintages of Opus One.
The successful bidder will also be presented that evening with a commemorative vertical of magnums of Opus One, all with a 7 or 5 in the vintage—a whimsical nod to the NVV’s 75th anniversary.
