Will Harlan, Winemaker
To capture in each vintage the seasonal expression and character of the land.
Duke University - B.A. Philosophy
Will Harlan - second generation of the Harlan Estate family - grew up in St. Helena in the Napa Valley. He graduated from Duke University in 2009 with a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy, and worked his way west to San Francisco in 2010 to focus on consumer-internet applications. He had begun blending wine a few years prior and was working on understanding wine production in his spare time.
In October of 2013 he announced the first release of "The Mascot", a wine made from the younger vines of Harlan Estate, BOND, and Promontory. Will has since released four vintages and is now turning over the endeavor to a small team as he steps into the leadership role with Promontory.
Living in San Francisco, working both in the city and Napa Valley, Will is forging relationships with a new generation of wine enthusiasts while furthering the family wineries' evolutionary path.
