The Shafer family offers two couples an exclusive Napa Valley food and wine extravaganza.

The adventure begins in your cellar with big bottles from the Shafer wine library. This lot offers two magnums each of vintages 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 Hillside Select, plus two 6-liter bottles of 2006 One Point Five Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon and two cases of 2011 Red Shoulder Ranch Chardonnay.

With the wine you’ll receive two ultra-limited-edition, signed copies of Doug Shafer’s memoir, A Vineyard in Napa, a handsome prize for any collector. University of California Press released the hard-bound version in November 2012. At the same time the winery privately commissioned just 30 hand-bound and specially printed volumes for the Shafer family – two of these will be yours.

With your collector needs taken care of, it’s time to wine, dine and more. The adventure moves to Napa Valley where you will enjoy a four-night luxury stay at Auberge du Soleil. Then things get cooking.

One person in your party will spend up to three days in the kitchen of The French Laundry with Thomas Keller’s culinary team, while one other person in your party will experience up to three days with the culinary team at Morimoto Napa. Both will receive a personalized chef jacket from the respective restaurants. (Please note: only one person per kitchen experience; the kitchens don’t allow trading off days between different participants.)

The others in the group will enjoy spa experiences and golf. The whole group will enjoy a sumptuous dinner at The French Laundry as well as dinner at Morimoto Napa, where you’ll be joined by John and Barbara Shafer and Doug and Annette Shafer.

In addition, the group will enjoy a private tasting of rare older vintages at Shafer Vineyards with Shafer winemaker Elias Fernandez.
