3-STAR DINING WITH COMPARATIVE WINE TASTING
Let’s start with fashion, oui? You and one other couple will join your hosts Ann Colgin and Joe Wender in Paris, where you’ll find out what’s in vogue at three haute couture fashion shows taking place between January 21-22, 2014. Take in the latest creations of Christophe Josse, Stephane Rolland and the hot-ticket event of Paris couture week--Chanel. Get an even more personal glimpse into Coco Chanel’s life with a private tour of her Paris apartment.
You’ll also take a curator-led exploration of the Pompidou Center which houses the largest museum for modern art in Europe. The timeless and oh-so- élégant Hotel Bristol will provide you with decadent rooms, and you’ll dine one evening at the hotel’s three-star Michelin restaurant Epicure. During your other evening in the City of Lights, you’ll enjoy a meal at one of Ann and Joe’s favorite Michelin-starred restaurants where you will revel in a blind, comparative tasting of Colgin wines and some of France’s top wines. Matt Wilson, principal of Soutirage, the Napa Valley-based wine advisory firm, will conduct the tasting.
And most importantly, the wine. You’ll take home a rare pair of beautifully etched and numbered double magnums of the two Bordeaux-style blends produced by Colgin Cellars: the 2009 IX Estate Napa Valley Red Wine and the Cariad Napa Valley Red Wine. Both are blends of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. These 3-L formats are not sold but are made especially for charitable donations.
This lot also includes an in-depth consultation of your wine cellar--anywhere in the United States--by Soutirage.
This lot does not include air travel expenses.
