It’s a well-known cocktail party conversation starter: If you could have dinner with any living person, who would it be?
Fourteen lucky people who get the intriguingly rare chance to enjoy a private dinner that wine lovers dream about: an evening with renowned critic Robert M. Parker Jr., founder of The Wine Advocate. You’ll dine in the private wine room at PRESS Restaurant in St. Helena, known for celebrating the famous red wines of Napa Valley alongside some of the finest prime dry-aged beef. Your meal will be accompanied by a dozen wines Mr. Parker will carefully select from his own cellar, including some of his personal favorites from the coveted 1982 vintage. Enjoy current release and library selections from the Napa Valley during a vintner-hosted reception and throughout dinner, chosen by the PRESS sommelier Scott Brenner.
To commemorate an evening spent with one of the wine world’s most influential figures, each person will take home 6 bottles of Napa Valley wine provided by members of the Napa Valley Vintners from the 2013 vintage and a copy of Napa Valley Then and Now, Kelli White’s recently published compendium of the history, land and wineries of America’s finest wine region. These wines will be from the 2013 vintage, heralded by Mr. Parker as “The greatest vintage that I’ve tasted in 37 years visiting Northern California.”
Dinner will take place at PRESS Restaurant in St. Helena on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at 6 p.m. This is a 'buy a spot' offering for a maximum of 14 guests.
