The Jewel....
Set high into a hilltop with panoramic views of Napa Valley, San Francisco Bay and its own estate vineyards, it's easy to see why Artesa is called the Jewel of Carneros.
Perhaps no other winery captures the multi-faceted beauty of this windswept, world-famous appellation as dramatically as the Artesa estate, where the fusion of architecture, artistry and winegrowing reaches soaring heights.
To understand Carneros is to taste Carneros. Carneros was the first American Viticulture Area to be defined by its climate characteristics ¬- cooler climate at the southern end of the Napa and Sonoma Valleys that has become renowned for producing superb Pinot Noir and Chardonnay
The Jeweler....
Napa artist Gordon Huether has been creating large-scale public art installations, private commissions and fine art for almost 30 years. He has extensive experience working with glass, metal, wood, composite materials and other materials including salvaged metals, bronze, aluminum, steel, found materials and collage. Using the seductive properties of richly saturated color, a wide array of natural and artificial light sources, luscious and diverse texture, and thought provoking imagery, his work offers viewers a complex intellectual experience. Huether's work has been exhibited at museums and galleries across the country .He has received more than 60 public art commissions and more than 150 private commissions throughout the US, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea and New Zealand.
Gordon Huether's fine art is widely collected and is featured at Artesa Winery where Huether has been the resident artist since 1992. The traditions of craftsmanship merge at the winery where over the years Gordon Huether's artwork has become as much a part of the Artesa experience as the panoramic views of the Carneros Valley, and their award winning wines.
The Experience.....
Your day will begin at Artesa Winery with a unique session that will highlight the terroir nuances of the region by showcasing different blocks of Artesa's Pinot Noir. You will learn how diversity in soil and elevation impact the aroma and flavors of our wines.
After learning more about what makes Carneros unique, a three-course, gourmet lunch, prepared by our resident chef, will be served at our estate with magnificent views that stretch over the bay and into San Francisco.
After lunch, tour the beautiful Artesa winery that is set into the hilltop and designed by world-famous Barcelona architect Domingo Triay. So you can take some of Carneros away with you, we leave you with memories (...some jewels....) from your day and a case of our rarest wine, Block 91D Pinot Noir, an exclusive Gordon Huether custom designed label signed by the Jewelers, Winemaker Mark Beringer and Artist Gordon Huether.
And then More......
The Art of the Party...Jewels and Jeweler
Huether's Downtown Napa gallery is an exclusive venue for his fine art - and here's where art meets party! Winning bidder and 5 of your closest friends are invited to a one-of-a-kind, private sit down dinner hosted by Gordon and catered by one of Napa's finest chef's. The dinner will take place at his gallery, complete with everything needed for memory making - libations, music, mingling, an Artesa wine-paired four-course sit down dinner. You'll hear about Gordon's background, his inspiration, and his work...and then things really heat up - the successful bidder gets the distinguished opportunity to choose from one of the jewels: the bidder will choose from one of the magnificent pieces on exhibit at the gallery to take home that night!
Taking home the Jewels.....
The winning bidder will be delighted to have this one-of-a-kind experience AND have the jewels to show for it for years to come!
Lot valid from June 1, 2013 through June 1, 2014 and is to be held on a mutually agreed upon date; up to maximum of 6 guests. Value of art to be donated not to exceed $10,000 and must be chosen the day of the event. However, should the winning bidder desire a piece(s) with a greater value, the $10,000 gallery credit may be applied and the winning bidder will pay the difference.
